1. Click on the RSS button here and subscribe to Meghna's blog (it's to help her win the 'Blogging Idol 2' contest)

2. Invite ONE FOLLOWER on Twitter to do the same - and keep on reminding that one person to just DO it. (If it's someone you know will enjoy reading that kind of blog, you're actually doing a favor, not being a bother!)

3. Convince that ONE follower to read this page - and do the same with ONE of their followers.

 

What is this Twitter Challenge? | Why should I join? | What are we testing? | What do I do next?

 

This will be a fun experiment to test several concepts:

a. The intensity of bonds on Twitter is always a moot point. If you can't convince ONE person to do something as painless and easy as subscribing to a blog, that's an indication of the kind of connections you're making on Twitter.

b. The extent of this social network is MASSIVE. And by a 'doubling viral' effect of just ONE person telling ONE more, the effort I'm putting into this doubles at each step. It'll be fun to see how far the multiple extends.

c. It will validate one of Robert Cialdini's principles of INFLUENCE - the 'Uncertainty' effect where bystanders will watch and wait... until they see the first person taking affirmative action

 

It will have the nice benefit of also encouraging a promising young blogger
to go even higher, even faster.

What is the Twitter Challenge?

The Twitter Challenge is an idea sparked off by Dr.Mani after he heard about the 'Blogging Idol 2' contest which @MeghaK wants to win - and to try and harness the power of a large Twitter network in making it happen.

The contest ends on November 30th.

On November 22nd, the position is that @MeghnaK needs 797 more new RSS subscribers - in 8 days.

YES, we can do it. Let's GO! :-)
