Marketing involves many different techniques, some of which are effective while others are not. Each one, however, requires that you invest time and money to test out and evaluate. So when you have to choose, pick the ones with the highest likelihood of success.
Integration marketing is one of the few ‘guaranteed’ methods. It often costs little, and the returns are continuous and ongoing. If you had to choose just one system to market your home business, integration marketing would be it.
What Is Integration Marketing?
It is a system that is integrated into someone else’s business in a manner that continuously generates a flow of prospects, subscribers or customers to your own business. The partner whose business you will integrate into is a ‘host’ – and you are the ‘beneficiary’ of the association.
How To Use Integration Marketing?
There are many different approaches, and which ones you select will depend on your resources.
A simple exchange of links back to each others’ websites is a form of integration marketing, where both partners benefit from exposure of their business to the other one’s audience.
Having a powerful endorsement of your business made to the customers or subscribers of your partner’s business is even more effective, because it pre-sells their clients on the value you are providing.
Negotiating Integration Marketing Deals
It can take some effort to put these deals in place, so be prepared to work on it. The first step is to identify prospective partners based on the kind of audience they reach. If it is similar to yours, there’s a good fit.
The next thing to do is prepare a plan that will be beneficial to both sides in the partnership. After all, no business owners will happily refer all their prospects to you without any advantage to themselves!
Once you have a win-win deal to take to your partner, establish contact in a manner that is friendly and convenient to them. Be respectful, offer value and be willing to explain the details. Prepare to modify the plan to suit any requirements of your partner. Take away any perception of risk on their side.
With some experience, you’ll get adept at arranging these deals, and start seeing the results of your efforts. Once you know how profitable integration marketing can be to your home business, you’ll find it more interesting to organize many more of them.
