Dr. Umar Alisha is the 9th head of Sri Viswa Viznana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham. He took over the reign of this 535 years old institution from his father, Mohiddin Badusha II, on 1989-09-09.
Alisha is the chairman of the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust and the Umar Alisha Sahithi Samithi. Alisha is also a poet, writing in the Telugu language, and the editor-in-chief of the spiritual magazine Tatva Znanamu.
He is a homeopath graduated from the Dr Gururaju Government Homeopathic Medical College in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh. Alisha received the (Visesha Puraskaram) -2006 Ramineni Foundation Award.
