Tony Silva is an American ornithologist, one-time president of the American Parrot Association, and former director at Tenerife’s Loro Parque, Europe’s largest parrot park. He is author of the book “A Monologue Of Endangured Parrots.”
On November 18, 1996, he was arrested and sentenced to 82 months without parole with conspiracy to violate wildlife privates and tax evasion, and fined $100,000 for smuggling Hyacinth Macaws. His smuggling ring gained an estimated $1.3 billion before they were caught.
